The Post Graduate Department of Bioinformatics was established in 2009 under the prestigious Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati with the vision of promoting interdisciplinary education and research at the interface of biological sciences and computational technology. The department stands as one of the few multidisciplinary Bioinformatics departments in Maharashtra and the only one of its kind in the Vidarbha region.
The department is progressing under the dynamic coordinatorship of Dr. Ganesh B. Hedawoo (Department of Botany), whose leadership has significantly contributed to academic growth, research development, and student achievements.
