National Statistics day 29^th June 2019: -

World Fame Statistician Dr. P.C. Mahalnobis Birthday Celebrated as a National Statistics day in collaboration with a Directorate of Statistics, Govt. of Maharashtra on 29^th June 2019. Chief Guest was Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr MurlidharjiChandekar& Hon’ble Collector Shailesh Naval (IAS) & Special Invitee was Hon’ble Secretary of Shri Shivaji Education Society Amravati Sh. SheshraojiKhade. Chairman of the function was Principal Dr. V.G. Thakare Head of the Statistics Department Dr. S.V. Choudhari& Joint Director Sh. Surendra Gavali was present on the dais. Hon'ble Collector Shailesh Naval made interaction with the students. He also guided the government employee about application of statistics in day today working of the office. Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor assured to open the shortterm courses in the University. Hon'ble Secretary of the society told now Mahatma Gandhi & Shivaji Maharaj has used the Statistics in their own working.

Dr. Sadhana Kolhekar , Prof , Department Of Statistics , GVISH , Amravati has conducted workshop on Research Methodology to the P.G. students and research scholars of our college on the occasion of National Statistics day.Workshop was arranged in view of increasing importance of application of statistical techniques in research .Workshop activity consisted in understanding basic statistical measures and their application in data analysis. She also explained application of advance statistical test in data analysis and result interpretation. Data Analysis through excel was also briefly taken care of . Workshop was very useful to PG students as all PG courses have one paper on Research methodology and application of statistical techniques. Students from Post Graduate and research scholars from various research laboratory of college benefited at large.

• On dated 22 feb 2020, Miss. Ramya Kappagantu, " Explore ML Facilitator, VNIT, Nagpur has conducted workshop on " Google AI| Explore ML, Beginner Track, In all 160 students registered for the workshop from the different colleges and 120 student actually participated for the same. Students appreciate the workshop in person.

• On dated 26 September 2019, Dr. R.G. Kedia, Head of Department of Statistics, G.V.I.S.H., Amravati has given the guest lecture on Opportunities in Statistics to B.Sc. (Statistics) Students. .

• On dated 28 Feb. 2020, Dr. (Mrs.) P.B. Lakhani , Associate Professor, Department of Statistics, G.V.I.S.H., Amravati has given the guest lecture on Analysis of Variance and its solution using MS Excel on the eve of National Science Day 2020. .
