Introduction:
Department of Computer Science organized a one-day outreach workshop titled "Effective Use of ICT in Education for Online & Blended Learning" on Saturday’14th September 2024. This one-day workshop titled "Effective Use of ICT in Education for Online & Blended Learning" was conducted to empower school teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in their teaching methodologies. This initiative aligns with the objectives of the DBT Star College Project Scheme, aiming to enhance educational quality through innovative practices.
To organized this outreach activity at different schools, our Head of the Department of Computer Science has communicated with the Head Master/Mistress of different schools to permit conduction of a one-day workshop on “Effective Use of ICT in Education for Online & Blended Learning” for the school teachers at their school premises. After receiving positive responses from the schools, HoD convened to departmental project coordinators and faculty members and planned about organisation of this workshop. The departmental coordinators then prepared the activity schedule by communicating with respective school in-charge.
This outreach activity workshop was organized at the different four (04) schools from the Amravati city. Total eight (08) faculties from our department have taken efforts in preparing contents and study material for this workshop in association with departmental coordinators. For each school two faculty members were appointed as resource person from the department.
Objectives:
1. To acquaint teachers with various ICT tools and platforms that can support online and blended learning.
2. To improve school teachers' digital literacy skills, enabling them to confidently integrate technology into their teaching practices.
3. To discuss effective pedagogical approaches for using ICT in education, including flipped classrooms, collaborative learning, and personalized instruction.
4. To provide hands-on training in the use of specific educational technologies (e.g., Learning Management Systems, video conferencing tools, and interactive applications).
5. To identify common challenges generally school teachers faces when implementing ICT and brainstorm potential solutions.
6. Inspire school teachers to experiment with innovative teaching methods that leverage technology to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
7. Guide school teachers on how to effectively assess student learning in online and blended environments using ICT tools.
Workshop Agenda
Inaugural Session
o Welcome address given by Head Masters of respective Schools. The headmasters highlighted the importance of integrating ICT in education and how this workshop aims to equip participants with essential skills. The headmasters have shared insights on the transformative role of ICT in education, emphasizing its impact on online and blended learning environments. The speeches should outline the objectives of the workshop and encourages teachers in active participation.

o Topic: " Effective Use of ICT in Education for Online & Blended Learning "
o Speaker: The resource person discussed the latest trends in ICT for education, best practices for online and blended learning, and practical strategies for effective implementation in classrooms. o Overview of how ICT can transform teaching and learning experiences.
Sessions
o Session 1: Mastering core MS Office Applications: This session provided an overview of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its significance in modern education. Participants learned about various ICT tools and resources that can enhance teaching and learning experiences. Main topics covered in this session are as follows:
Introduction to Office tools
Interactive demonstration on office tools.
o Session 2: Exploring Google Applications: The resource person discussed effective strategies for online learning, focusing on engagement techniques, assessment methods, and creating interactive content. Participants explored tools such as learning management systems (LMS) and virtual classrooms.
Exploration of tools like Google Docs, Google classroom for group activities.
Activities designed to enhance student engagement.
o Session 3: Practical Exercise: In this interactive session, teachers engaged in hands-on activities using various ICT tools such as Google Classroom and other google application. They learned how to create engaging lessons and assessments that integrate technology.
Feedback and Q&A Session
The participated teachers were asked to discuss about queries on the contents delivered in sessions, share their experiences, and provide feedback on the workshop. This interactive session encouraged collaboration and exchange of ideas.
o Resource person who shared insights and addressed questions from participants.
o Teacher participants shared their experiences and challenges with ICT in their schools.
o Suggestions and solutions were discussed collaboratively.
o Teachers filled up google form in this session and gave healthy feedback
Closing Remarks
o Distribution of certificates of participation.
o The sessions conducted by the resource person provided valuable insights and practical knowledge for educators to effectively utilize ICT in their teaching. Teachers left with new skills and ideas to enhance their educational practices and improve student learning outcomes.

The principal of our college Dr. G. V. Korpe has appreciated the concept of the department and helped to reach out and deliver the skilled knowledge to the most needed beneficiaries i.e. school teachers outside the campus.
It’s a tradition of our department to organise workshops on innovative and time demanding topics. Dr. M. M. Bhonde, Head, Department of Computer Science has taken initiative to make this workshop successful right from initial communications to content designing for the workshop. This workshop was coordinated by departmental DBT Star Project coordinators Dr. U. S. Junghare and Mr. Y. V. Hushare. The faculty members have contributed by delivering the designed contents as a resource person. The P.G. students of department have worked as volunteers to make all arrangements of workshop at respective schools. All the teaching and non-teaching staff of the department of Computer Science were involved for the successful organization of the workshop.
This one-day workshop was very successful in attaining its objectives, fostering a spirit of innovation among educators. The Department of Computer Science, under the DBT Star College Project scheme, remains committed to support teachers in enhancing their ICT skills and adapting the modern educational practices representing a diverse range of subjects and grades.
All the participants have expressed the enthusiasm and shown keen interest in integrating the tools and strategies discussed during the sessions of workshop. Many of them have requested to organise such use full informative session on other required technical topics in future for them.
