Tntroduction:
The workshop was organized by the Department of Computer Science, Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati, under the DBT Star College Scheme (Strengthening Component), in collaboration with the Non-Teaching Staff Development and Welfare Committee (NTSDC).

This program was conducted as an Outreach Activity aimed at extending institutional expertise to neighboring colleges for capacity building among non-teaching staff.

Date: Saturday, 31 January 2026
Venue: Conducted at respective participating colleges in Amravati

The workshop was specially designed for non-teaching staff members of the following colleges:
Shri Shivaji Art and Commerce College, Amravati
Matoshree Vimlabai Deshmukh Mahavidyalaya, Amravati
Independent Junior College Rural Institute, Amravati
Shri Shivaji Agriculture College, Amravati
Shri Shivaji College of Horticulture, Amravati

Pre-Activity Planning and Permission
Respected Dr. G. V. Korpe Principal of Shri Shivaji Science college, Amravati gave permission to conduct this activity. Prior to conducting the workshop, formal permission was sought from the respective Principals of the participating colleges through official Permission-cum-Invitation letters.
The letters clearly stated:
Objective of the outreach initiative
Importance of cyber awareness in the digital era
Request for conducting sessions at their institutions
Assurance of expert resource persons
All participating institutions granted permission and extended full cooperation for successful execution of the activity.


Objectives of the Workshop
The key objectives of the workshop were:
Enhance Cyber Awareness: The primary objective of the workshop was to create awareness among non-teaching staff about the growing importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital era. With increasing dependence on digital platforms for administrative and official work, it becomes essential for staff to understand potential cyber risks.
Secure Digital Devices: Another important objective was to educate participants on best practices for securing digital devices such as computers, laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
Data Privacy and Protection: The workshop focused on imparting knowledge about safeguarding sensitive personal and official data. Participants were made aware of the significance of maintaining confidentiality and complying with data protection norms.
To promote ethical and responsible use of digital technologies
To sensitize staff about cyber threats, frauds, and preventive measures
The workshop aimed to strengthen the overall digital competency of non-teaching staff by equipping them with essential skills required for secure and efficient use of technology in administrative tasks.

Structure of the Workshop
The workshop was conducted in two sessions:
Session 1: Introduction to Cyber Awareness & Safety Measures
Basics of cybersecurity
Types of cyber threats (phishing, malware, identity theft)
Importance of strong passwords and secure authentication
Safe internet practices
Session 2: Hands-on Training
Practical demonstration of securing smartphones and computers
Use of antivirus and firewall
Identifying suspicious emails and links
Safe usage of digital platforms for official work

Methodology Adopted
Interactive lectures using presentations
Demonstrations and real-life case studies
Hands-on practice sessions
Question–answer discussions
QR-based registration and participation tracking

Participation and Response
The workshop received active participation from non-teaching staff across all colleges
Participants showed keen interest in learning practical cybersecurity techniques
Interactive sessions encouraged discussion of real-life cyber issues faced by staff

The activity was conducted in a total of four colleges. The number of participants present at the following colleges is as follows:
Shri Shivaji Arts and Commerce College, Amravati: __21_ participants
Matoshree Vimlabai Deshmukh Mahavidyalaya and Rural Institute, Amravati: 14___ participants
Shri Shivaji Agriculture College, Amravati: __33_ participants
Shri Shivaji College of Horticulture, Amravati: _19__ participants
Total: A total of __87_ participants attended the workshop from various colleges.
