Introduction

In the rapidly transforming digital era, technologies such as Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cybersecurity are revolutionizing industries and creating a high demand for skilled professionals. To help students understand and prepare for such emerging career opportunities, the Department of Computer Science, Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati, organized an insightful Guest Lecture titled “Architecting the Future: Careers in Cloud Computing, AI and Security” on 06th October 2025 at Sir C. V. Raman Auditorium.
This program was catalyzed under the DBT Star College Scheme and aimed to enrich students’ understanding of next-generation computing paradigms. The guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Parag Kaveri, Deputy Director, Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research, Pune.
The initiative reflected the Department’s vision to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry-oriented skills, empowering students to envision promising career paths in technological domains like cloud infrastructure management, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and information security.
With 134 student participants, the session successfully created an interactive platform to discuss futuristic career trends, essential competencies, and technological transformations shaping the global IT landscape.


Objectives

The guest lecture was conceptualized with the following key objectives:
To introduce students to the evolving technologies of Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity.
To provide a comprehensive understanding of the roles, career prospects, and skillsets required in these domains.
To bridge academic knowledge and industrial applications, highlighting practical implementations of these technologies.
To create awareness about global trends, certifications, and professional pathways available to computer science graduates.
To encourage research interest among students by exposing them to innovative applications of AI and cloud-based technologies.
To emphasize cybersecurity awareness, focusing on data protection, ethical hacking, and privacy considerations in the digital world.
The lecture sought to motivate students to adopt a futuristic mindset and develop technical competencies aligning with the modern digital ecosystem.
Inaugural Session

The program commenced with an auspicious beginning in the Sir C. V. Raman Auditorium. The Inaugural Session was graced by Dr. M. M. Bhonde, Head, Department of Computer Science, along with faculty members and enthusiastic students from undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Dr. Bhonde welcomed the resource person, Dr. Parag Kaveri, and briefed the audience about the department’s continuous efforts in organizing industry-driven sessions under the DBT Star College Scheme. He emphasized that such initiatives not only provide students with exposure to contemporary technologies but also prepare them for competitive careers in IT and allied fields.
The introduction of the guest speaker was given by Dr. U. S. Junghare, highlighting Dr. Kaveri’s rich academic background, research contributions, and expertise in AI and cloud technologies.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with the lighting of the lamp and a brief address by Dr. Kaveri, who appreciated the Department’s efforts in promoting advanced technology learning through such events.

Key Sessions Conducted

Session: Architecting the Future – Careers in Cloud Computing, AI and Security
The technical session began with an in-depth overview of emerging computing paradigms that form the backbone of today’s digital ecosystem. Dr. Kaveri explained how Cloud Computing has transformed the IT infrastructure model by enabling on-demand services, scalability, and cost-efficiency. He elaborated on service models like IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, and explained the real-world applications of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
Transitioning to Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Kaveri discussed the growing impact of AI in areas like automation, predictive analytics, natural language processing, and computer vision. He highlighted the interconnection between AI and cloud computing, explaining how AI-driven applications rely heavily on cloud infrastructure for computation and data storage.
The final part of the session focused on Cybersecurity—an indispensable pillar of modern technology. Dr. Kaveri emphasized the growing need for data protection, ethical hacking, intrusion detection systems, and secure software design. He discussed how cybersecurity complements AI and cloud computing, ensuring safe and ethical technological advancement.
The lecture was followed by a career guidance segment, where Dr. Kaveri outlined potential career paths such as:
Cloud Architect / Cloud Engineer
AI/ML Engineer / Data Scientist
Cybersecurity Analyst / Ethical Hacker
DevOps Engineer / Cloud Security Specialist
He further discussed global certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, and CompTIA Security+, which enhance employability in these fields.

Interactive Session And Student Engagement

Students actively participated throughout the session, raising thoughtful questions about AI model development, data privacy, and career transition strategies. Dr. Kaveri’s responses were both informative and inspiring, encouraging students to explore hands-on learning opportunities through open-source projects and internships.
Participants expressed keen interest in learning programming tools such as Python, TensorFlow, Kubernetes, and Docker, as well as ethical hacking platforms. The interaction created a dynamic environment promoting intellectual curiosity and practical awareness.

Feedback And Evaluation

At the end of the session, students provided structured feedback through a Google Form. The responses highlighted the following:
97% of participants found the lecture highly relevant and motivational.
94% appreciated the clarity of content and real-world career insights.
91% expressed interest in pursuing certifications or internships in AI and cloud computing.
95% rated the speaker’s delivery and presentation as excellent.
Students also expressed their wish for a series of workshops focusing on hands-on learning in cloud deployment, AI project development, and cybersecurity simulations.

Summary

The guest lecture successfully met its objectives of enhancing student awareness of evolving digital technologies and career pathways. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 134 students, including UG and PG students of the Department of Computer Science. The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to think critically about the skills required to stay relevant in the dynamic IT industry.
The overall coordination was managed by Dr. U. S. Junghare and Mr. Y. V. Hushare, Departmental DBT Star Project Coordinators, under the able guidance of Dr. M. M. Bhonde, Head, Department of Computer Science. The department expressed gratitude to Dr. G. V. Korpe, Principal, for his continuous motivation and support in conducting such knowledge-enriching activities.

CONCLUSION

The Guest Lecture on “Architecting the Future: Careers in Cloud Computing, AI and Security” served as a valuable learning experience, inspiring students to pursue advanced studies and careers in futuristic domains of computing. The insights shared by Dr. Parag Kaveri helped students understand the interrelationship between AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, emphasizing that the future belongs to professionals who can integrate innovation with ethical responsibility.
The initiative, organized under the DBT Star College Scheme, reinforced the Department’s mission of academic excellence, skill enhancement, and student-centric development. The department plans to conduct follow-up workshops and hands-on training programs in AI and cloud platforms to provide students with practical exposure and project-based learning opportunities.
