Plastic pollution has emerged as one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, with significant impacts on ecosystems, human health, and global climate. In response to this urgent issue, the Department of Chemistry at Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati, organized an awareness campaign titled "Awareness Campaign for a Plastic-Free Environment in Amravati City." The campaign aimed to educate and engage B.Sc. I students about the dangers of plastic pollution and promote sustainable alternatives. This report provides a comprehensive overview of the campaign, including its objectives, planning, execution, and outcomes.

The campaign was scheduled for September 25, 2024, and targeted 100 B.Sc. I students who were enrolled in chemistry with combinations in microbiology, environmental science, biotechnology, physics, mathematics, botany, and zoology.
Venue Selection: The campaign was conducted in Shivaji Nagar, Amravati City, a strategic location that facilitated interaction with local residents and stakeholders.
Materials and Resources: The organizing committee prepared educational materials, including brochures, posters, and informative handouts detailing the impacts of plastic pollution and alternatives to single-use plastics. Additionally, reusable bags and eco-friendly products were distributed to participants.

Future Recommendations
To build on the success of this campaign, the following recommendations are proposed:
1. Regular Awareness Campaigns: Organizing similar campaigns at regular intervals can help maintain momentum and continuously engage students and the community in sustainability efforts.
2. Workshops and Training Sessions: Providing additional workshops focusing on practical skills, such as creating eco-friendly products, can empower students to implement sustainable practices in their daily lives.
3. Collaboration with Local Organizations: Strengthening partnerships with local environmental organizations can enhance the reach and impact of future initiatives.
4. Incorporating Sustainability into Curriculum: Integrating environmental education into the curriculum can help cultivate a culture of sustainability among students from an early stage.
