Rules for admission to the post graduate courses (Non-grant basis) in Botany, Chemistry, Computer Software, Physics and Zoology

These rules may be called 'Rules for Admission to Post - graduate Courses.

These rules are applicable for admission to M.Sc. courses (Non-grant basis) in the subjects:

Chemistry

Computer Software

Physics

Zoology

Admission will be done by the respective admission committees consisting of the Head of the department and two staff members of the concerned subject.

 

Eligibility* and Seats

1

The applicant can apply for admission to M.Sc. I course in the subject which
he/she had offered at the (Bachelor Degree) graduate level.

The applicant shall submit one application form for each of the courses for which he/she is eligible.
 

Validity of Application form : An application form will be considered valid only if :

a

The application form is duly filled in by the applicant in a clear legible hand and signed by the applicant and the Guardian.

b

The application form is accompanied by attested true copies of the following certificates:

i

Mark sheet of First year, Second Year and Third Year of qualifying degree examination including attempt certificates for each year, or gap certificate (if any).

ii

Caste certificate (if any)

iii

Transfer certificate

iv

No Objection certificate of employer, if employed.

v

Recent passport size photograph.

Preparation of Merit List

The qualifying marks for preparing the merit list of applicants will be calculated as per the formula given below Qualifying Index = E - F
where E = A + B + C + D
E = Total marks obtained out of 1800
A = Marks obtained out of 450 in first year of degree course.
B = Marks obtained out of 450 in second year of degree course.
C = Marks obtained out of 450 in third year of degree course.
D = Marks obtained out of 450 in the subject of admission at
first year + second year + third year of degree course.
F = Deduction of 5 marks for each attempt excluding first attempt.

A Provisional merit list will be prepared in the descending order of merit for each subject and will be displayed on the notice board of the respective department

Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be required to attend an interview on dates as per the programme to be displayed by the admission committee on the notice board.
No separate intimation will be sent at the home address.

* Note 1 : Applicants for M.Sc. Computer S/W holding a P.G. Diploma in Computer Science and seeking admission will have their marks calculated out of 450.
* Note 2: M.Sc. Computer S/W Course will be on semester (by annual) pattern as per university ordinance 12 of 2001
